Hooley dooley, Skippy in my backyard

Kangaroo We just had 100% early morning excitement at our place.  I let the dogs out and, lo and behold, found we had a kangaroo in our backyard.

I know, I know, in Australia kangaroos hop down the street… and well, here they sometimes do but I’ve never had one in the backyard before.

Rule 1: Dogs and kangaroos don’t mix.

Luckily the dog that can jump to the moon stopped after I yelled at her a lot.  The other one would not, and could not, stop himself.  Luckily Skippy jumped over the side fence and the non-jumping dog decided to just boing up and down instead of taking the leap.

Skippy last seen heading up the street and hopefully to freedom.

I have no photos of the actual event because you can’t stop to take photos of a potential disaster. These ones are from the Look Mama archives.

If the dogs ever stop yipping and whining and sniffing each other I might let them out again.

Right, I’m off to clean up the garden. Broken plants and scattered furniture everywhere!

About gillianloves

I decided there was not enough laughing in my life so I set to and started to design greeting cards in addition to my other design work. I'm happy to make people smile and to show that giving something really good takes as little effort as sending something pretty ordinary. I fully believe that if you can laugh about it someday you may as well laugh about it today. And also that we are just about as happy as we try to be. But you should know, Pollyanna I'm not. Even I might want to slap her after a day or so.
