Delightfully dressed up Daleks

I love looking at what people have typed into a search engine that has, in turn, sent them to my blog.  My favourite one of all time is Baby Octopus Head. Yes, there IS a baby octopus head on here (check it out, last item). I would have to say, without a doubt, the most often typed search is for “Dalek salt and pepper shakers”.

I mentioned them in a really early post (before I worked out “product blog” was not really my style). When my husband and I were married, my brother and his wife gave us a pair of Daleks as a wedding present. Not only were they way cool just as they were, a special little something had been added that made it impossible not to do this…

Voila! The cake is a blog post in itself.  Made by a dear, sweet lady who turned out to have lost 70% of her vision.  It wasn’t quite round, the ivy leaves (ivy?!) were bright green.  I looked at it and thought “It’s not quite round, it has ivy leaves on it, doesn’t matter”, gave her a great big smile and a hug and thanked her from the bottom of my heart. She was so happy. And you know what? On the night it came up just fine and with it’s swish Dalek wedding toppers it was bloody well brilliant.

PS It tasted great too. And that’s saying something.

About gillianloves

I decided there was not enough laughing in my life so I set to and started to design greeting cards in addition to my other design work. I'm happy to make people smile and to show that giving something really good takes as little effort as sending something pretty ordinary. I fully believe that if you can laugh about it someday you may as well laugh about it today. And also that we are just about as happy as we try to be. But you should know, Pollyanna I'm not. Even I might want to slap her after a day or so.
