Kawaii. Now don’t worry, I never knew what it was either. Kawaii (pronounced the same as Hawaii but with a K) is the Japanese word for cute.
Around the time of my birthday (when I can justify wasting money on myself) I went a little nuts on 1950s porcelain figurines that are most definitely kawaii. I know it can all be so cute you just want to vomit… but it would be pretty pink sparkly strawberry flavoured vomit for sure.
I can’t say I love them all… and maybe some are more kitsch than kawaii (but, um, I kinda like kitsch too). Take this swan for example. It is a way more than a little over the top for me, but I can have some fun with it…
Oh look, it’s a sparkly trinity > kitsch, kawaii and kewpi. Jackpot.
Fun Friday kitschy kawaii to you all. : )

Kawaii.
I’m writing that done.
Someday I will need that… when I bring home another teeny tiny dog that needs a name!
I meant down, not done
(leave me alone! I’m tired! LOL!)
Ha! I knew what you meant. And when you bring home little Kawaii I wont even remind you “no more pets”. I promise. : ) x
