If it wasn’t for our two Destructo Dogs, who operate more on the side of evil and destruction than on the side of good, I would like a pond and a fountain. You know, something tinkly with a few water lilies and a couple of goldfish.
That was until I saw something so much better. I need to raise my sights. Instead of a pool full of green sludge and a couple of mopey fish I could have this. Well okay, no, I couldn’t, but I’d sure like too. A girl can dream, can’t she?
This marvel was created by William Pye based on the story of the Greek siren Charybdis. Charybdis pinched the oxen of Hercules (as you do) so the mighty Zeus zapped her with a thunderbolt and changed her into a whirlpool. What? No headful of snakes or anything?This made her kind of cranky and she is spending eternity swallowing hapless ships.
All it needs is a few big bitey fish to keep the children from actually jumping in and a few toy boats. Okay, that might be messing with perfection, but it’s my dream so I can have what I want, yeah? Yeah.
